Ditch the Plastics
Did you know BPA was originally manufactured as a synthetic estrogen for pharma? Nowadays its used in polycarbonate plastics and over 100 tons of BPA are produced annually for use in plastic water bottles, baby bottles, lining of canned food, thermal receipts from cash registers, and more!
Have you ever heard the words endocrine disruptor? That’s what BPA is; it interferes with the function of reproductive hormones like estrogen and testosterone. High levels of BPA in women have been associated with poor development of the brain and reproductive system in babies, lower IVF success rates, and greater miscarriages. 😱🙅♀️
How Can I Limit BPA Exposure?
1. Forget plastic water bottles and use stainless steel or glass.
2. Start storing food and leftovers glass or stainless steel. If that seems tough, we know, but whatever you do DON’T MICROWAVE your food in the plastic.
3. Pod coffee lover? If you’re lazy, buy aluminum pods. If you’re less lazy, switch to a French press or pour-over.
4. Paper receipts or tickets? Literally try not to touch them. This sounds crazy but it’s true! So much can be absorbed from your hands. Go digital kids!
5. Don’t trust “BPA free” as they may include other endocrine disruptors.
