An Evening to Remember

Last month, I had the honor of having so many of my friends, family and colleagues gather in one place to celebrate the launch of a project I'm incredibly passionate about - my new podcast, Waiting For Babies. Listening to intensely emotional stories of infertility and loss over drinks may not be everyone's idea of a party, but for me, it was an amazing experience to share the reason behind why I do what I do with people I care about. I am so grateful to Elizabeth Walker and Maria Novotny from The ART of Infertility for sharing their personal stories with the audience. As we all sat there listening to these women talk about something so personal, it was a realization of exactly why I embarked on this project in the first place - it's time we open up about what is often considered a taboo subject. We owe it to the many women and men suffering in silence to remove the stigma from miscarriage, infertility and all of the emotions surrounding these very common experiences.

Thank you to everyone who attended and to everyone who helped make the event possible. I hope that you left with a new understanding of what so many individuals and couples are struggling with, and were inspired by the humanity, the  sadness, the resilience and even the humor in their stories. If you were unable to attend, Elizabeth and Maria's stories are now up on the podcast! You can listen to all past episode here.

Sincerely,

Steven Mavros
